Why We Do This Work

JR Mobile Diesel Repair was founded with a straightforward goal: to provide diesel vehicle owners and operators with access to professional-grade diagnostics and repair work without the inconvenience and delays that often accompany traditional workshop appointments.

Too often, diesel faults are either misdiagnosed — leading to costly unnecessary parts replacements — or left unattended due to the logistical difficulty of getting a working vehicle to a specialist. Mobile service addresses both of these problems directly.

Our mission is not to be the cheapest provider. It is to be the most reliable, most honest, and most technically capable mobile diesel service we can be — so that customers can make well-informed decisions about their vehicles with confidence.

Every member of our team holds formal qualifications in diesel vehicle technology and has worked extensively with a range of diesel engine platforms — from light commercial vehicles to agricultural machinery.

James Rowlands

Lead Technician & Founder

James established JR Mobile Diesel Repair after more than a decade working in HGV and light commercial diesel workshop environments. He holds City & Guilds Level 3 in Vehicle Technology and has specialist training in common rail fuel systems.

His approach to diagnostics is methodical and evidence-based — he does not recommend repairs that he cannot justify through measurable test results.

Richard Clarke

Senior Diesel Technician

Richard brings a background in agricultural diesel engineering alongside experience with light and medium commercial vehicle repair. His particular areas of expertise include fuel system overhauls and turbocharger diagnosis.

He is trained in the use of Delphi, Bosch, and Siemens fuel system diagnostic platforms.

Daniel Marsh

Diagnostics Specialist

Daniel joined the team following several years working with a dealership in the diagnostics and programming department. His expertise is in ECU-level diagnostics, emissions system troubleshooting, and software-based fault resolution.

He is proficient with VCDS, AutoCom, Delphi DS, and several manufacturer proprietary platforms.

2016

JR Mobile Diesel Founded

James Rowlands registered JR Mobile Diesel Repair and began offering mobile diagnostic and emergency repair services across the Staffordshire area.

2018

First Fleet Agreement

The business secured its first multi-vehicle fleet maintenance agreement with a local logistics company, marking the beginning of regular commercial contract work.

2019

Team Expansion

Richard Clarke joined as a second technician, increasing service capacity and allowing the business to cover a wider geographic area more reliably.

2021

Diagnostics Investment

Significant investment in advanced diagnostic equipment, including Delphi DS and Bosch ESI platforms, strengthened the team's capability for complex multi-system fault resolution.

2023

Daniel Marsh Joins

Daniel Marsh joined as a dedicated diagnostics specialist, bringing ECU-level expertise and expanding the range of vehicles and fault types the team can address.

2024

Continued Growth

With over 1,200 jobs completed and a growing base of repeat customers, JR Mobile Diesel Repair continues to expand its service area and technical capabilities.
